Stalley - Masterpiece (Prod. By Precize)
Stalley - Worldwide (Ft. Mickey Factz) (Prod. By Madlib)
A creative but organized mess [Laughs]. It would be a transparent view of my body and you would see my heart and brain. The two tools heavily used when creating my music, which I do constantly throughout the day.
illRoots: Why GFC?
Stalley: I believe GFCnewyork is great at developing, marketing, and branding an artist. It truly feels like a family; where you can be yourself as an artist and person.
illRoots: What is music?
Stalley: Music is the creative expression of a person. The sounds of music can be effected by your current mood and location which is the reason for various genres of music.

iR: Name three things you usually have on your person at all times.

S:1. My beard [laugh], cause that's just a part of my face.
2. My iPod cause I can't go through the day without listening to music.
3. Many people don't know, but I carry a pocket size Qur'an that I rely on during times of stress.

iR: You've recently stepped on the scene with Mickey Factz, what other up & coming artists should we keep an ear on?

S: Well right now I dig Blu from the West.
iR: A Hidden gem from your neck of the woods is...

S: Stalley
iR: With the internet being so prominent in today's culture, what do you feel is the biggest conflict between music and the digital age?
S:I feel like the internet allows the over saturation of artists. Some with talent, most without. And the ones with talent can be compared to needles in the hay stack.
iR: If you had a painter follow you around and paint your life, how would that portrait be portrayed?
S: A creative but organized mess [laughs]. It would be a transparent view of my body and you would see my heart and brain. Those are the two tools heavily used when creating my music, which I do constantly throughout the day. Or just the artwork for my new mixtape "MadStalley: The Autobiography."
iR: Define Stalley.
S:Stalley is an Emcee bringing something refreshing to the game. Writes like a poet; everything I speak on is real, so the music is me. Trying to bring back that good vibe to music, something people can enjoy and feel good listening to. The complexities of my character can be deciphered within my music.

iR: Your last song will be produced by....

S: R.I.P. Dilla. He would have to be the producer that I would have loved my last record to be produced by. His instinctual beat patterns were so ill, he had hard bass lines and his sound was so Midwest and soulful. All these things combined is basically my music in a nutshell or what I would like my music to evolve into.
iR: What should we look for in the very near future from you and where?
S: Right now I'm getting ready to release my new mixtape titled "MadStalley: The Autobiography." Musically, I portray my journey from small city, Massillon, Ohio, to the big city of NYC. Be prepared to listen to the downfalls and overcoming of a growing artist in NYC. Also, be prepared to see more of me LIVE in the flesh with my band. It's sure to be an experience to remember. And just myself as well as my ALIFE and GFCnewyork family being the leading figures in this new culture. Hopefully everyone can get it right here at Illroots.com.
