The song, which is the third and final track from iCON’s Headphone Classics series of releases, prominently features guest emcee, Awar, a recent signee to iCON’s newly founded label, Master Works Unlimited. While the previous two tracks in iCON’s Headphones Classics series were multi-layed, metaphorical stories, “Sparks Fly” serves as the essence of in-your-face braggadocio rap, with confident rhymes spewing aplenty. Vanderslice, who has previously produced for Sean Price, Jedi Mind Tricks, and more, delivers the beat for the track, with sparse bass lines, connected by a dark, pulsing 80’s synth sample and a low-end drum pattern complimenting the emcees’ rhymes perfectly.
