Some conversation started in our Chatbox about the folks at illRoots not responding to emails sent from artists with their music or videos. We get at least one hundred emails a day from aspiring rappers, singers, producers, etc. and it is near impossible to listen to all the music/videos we get sent, post it, and respond to all these emails. Not to mention we get at least another hundred plus emails from other websites, blasts, people that make it near impossible to read everything.
We have to be selective with what we post as illRoots is a content driven website that hates to cosign anything that is below average. As you have noticied, we love to support up and coming musicians on our website, so this makes it very difficult to make every artist happy.
I have set up an email address where you can send all your latest music and videos. iRmediabox[at]gmail[dot]com. I can't guarantee that your music will be posted, but for the best chances of that happening, please send to said address.
Also, here is some advice that may help your music get posted on illRoots or pretty much any other blog:
Be serious in your email. Don't send me some RapidShare link with your song, writing AYO WAX, POST MAH MUZIK KID!!! DONT B A HATA, MY SHYT IS HOTT ONE HUNNID!!! I can almost guarantee I won't download your file with this in the email. Send me a Zshare link, a couple good quality pictures, links to your Myspace, anything that will make it easy to post your material or contact you for future work if i'm digging your tunes. I take what I do seriously, and you should too. I'm doing you a favor by posting and supporting your music, so respect that. Be professional is the key to surviving in the music industry.
Also, I get tons of email's a day requesting to be added to our blogroll and being the busy guy I am, I can not add all of them when I receive your email. When illRoots first started out, I went through the same thing in regards to wanting to be on a sites blogroll. For that reason, feel free to leave the link to your blog in a comment and I will be sure to add it to our blogroll. Don't forget to return the favor and put us in yours!
