According to The New York Times, Google has a few tricks up its sleeve with their next update for Google Translate. After rumors about the technology have been flying around for some time, it seems that we are approaching the release of a Google service that allows for real-time voice translation. Although Skype has recently debuted similar features, Google claims that their system reaches near-perfection for real-time translation. Developments also suggest that they will also be launching software that allows users to take an image of a foreign street sign and translate it to the language of their preference. Stay tuned as we wait for the public release of this technology.
